Ahmed Sharia went to Ankara to meet with Trump and hold diplomatic talks

Upon Ahmed Sharaa's arrival in Ankara, Turkey's ambassador to Syria and the country's Minister of Trade welcomed him.


The purpose of this trip has been stated as conducting meetings and discussions on political and economic issues between Syria and the United States.


Anadolu Agency, quoting Donald Trump, reported that during his meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, he said that Ahmed Sharaa has managed to strengthen stability in Syria over the past 18 months and pave the way for unity across the country.


These remarks come at a time when Damascus has witnessed an increase in diplomatic activities from Western countries in recent months. This includes the visit of Emmanuel Macron, President of France, to Syria, which is considered the first trip by a leader from the European Union following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

Ahmed Sharaa, President of Syria, arrived in Ankara on Wednesday to meet with Donald Trump, President of the United States, and hold consultations on various issues on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
