Canada strongly condemns violence against Iranian protesters

Canada's Prime Minister, in an official statement, emphasized that violent crackdowns on protesting citizens not only violate human values but also breach the fundamental principles of human rights.


According to him, the people of Iran have the right to freely express their views and participate in peaceful gatherings without fear of prosecution or punishment.


This position states that Canada deems the killing of protesters unacceptable and urges Iranian authorities to immediately cease repressive behaviors.


The Government of Canada has added that freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly are fundamental rights of every human being, and no government should restrict these rights through force and threats.


Ottawa has also announced that, in coordination with the international community, it is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and will support all efforts aimed at protecting citizens' lives and respecting human dignity.


Canadian officials have emphasized that the continuation of violence against protesters will have serious international consequences and have called on Tehran to replace suppression and threats with a path of dialogue with the people.

The Government of Canada, in response to the ongoing suppression of popular protests in Iran, has described the Islamic Republic's security measures as concerning and has strongly condemned the use of violence, arbitrary detentions, and restrictions on civil liberties.
