A new round of confrontation. CENTCOM says it has hit 140 targets of Iranian design

According to CENTCOM, approximately 140 military targets were struck using precision munitions fired from U.S. Air Force fighter jets, drones, and Navy vessels.

These targets included missile and drone facilities, ammunition storage sites, maritime capabilities, communication networks, and coastal surveillance centers.

In a statement, CENTCOM said the operation followed an attack by IRGC forces on the Cypriot-flagged container ship "MV GFS Galaxy" in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States claims that in this attack, one civilian crew member went missing and the vessel lost the ability to continue its journey due to a fire and severe damage to the engine room.

It was also emphasized that Tehran had previously had the opportunity to adhere to the agreement; however, it took no such action.

CENTCOM stated that the goal of continuing these attacks is to reduce the Islamic Republic's ability to carry out assaults against commercial ships and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.

The command added that the operation is being carried out under orders from the U.S. Commander-in-Chief. At the same time, Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, reposted CENTCOM's statement and wrote that Iran "made the wrong choice and is now paying the price for it."

Meanwhile, Iranian domestic media reported explosions in several areas. Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, citing local sources, announced that 10 explosions occurred in Jask and 12 explosions were heard in Bushehr Province within one hour; specifically, five explosions in Bandar Dayyer, four in Asaluyeh, and three explosions in the city of Bushehr were reported.

At the same time, some Iranian media reported the start of missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic in response to the U.S. operation early Monday morning, although no details have been released regarding the scale of the attacks or the targeted bases. Bahrain also sounded air raid sirens and urged residents to head to the nearest safe location; the UAE announced the activation of its air defense systems to counter missile threats; and Reuters, citing an eyewitness, reported hearing explosion sounds in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has completed the third phase of its attacks against Iran.
