Pakistan calls Taliban claim of civilian deaths 'propaganda'

In an interview with Geo News, he described the Taliban's statements about the deaths of 13 civilians as "propaganda warfare" and said these operations were carried out in response to recent deadly attacks against Pakistani forces in the tribal areas and based on precise intelligence information.


According to Tarar, the Pakistani army's attacks targeted only the centers, hideouts, and operational cells of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), inflicting heavy casualties on the group. He claimed that several key TTP commanders were also killed in these operations.


Pakistan's Information Minister added that these hideouts, in addition to sheltering TTP members, were used as operational planning centers and ammunition depots for attacks into Pakistani territory.


He also stated that Islamabad will release videos and evidence of these operations to prove its claims and demonstrate that no civilian targets were hit during the attacks.


Meanwhile, Reuters news agency published a video on Wednesday showing damage from the Pakistani attacks in an area of Khost. Sherbet Khan, one of the local residents, said one of the destroyed houses belonged to an ordinary family.


This comes as the United Nations had previously confirmed the killing of civilians in Pakistan's attacks on Afghanistan.

Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, denied the killing of civilians in the recent attacks by the country's army on Afghan soil.
