UAE agrees to release billions of dollars for Iran

According to these sources, the agreement was reached as part of an understanding under which Iran's attacks on the United Arab Emirates would cease.


Meanwhile, two other sources familiar with the details of the agreement have stated that the total value of the amounts in question is $20 billion. They too have said that this agreement was obtained in exchange for halting attacks by the Islamic Republic on the UAE.


One of these sources has confirmed that the first tranche of this financial aid, worth $3 billion, has already been placed at the disposal of the Iranian government.


Reuters wrote that this move signals a tactical shift in approach by Abu Dhabi following weeks of attacks by the Islamic Republic on the UAE amid the war between the United States, Israel, and Iran—attacks that had also affected this wealthy Gulf state.

Reuters has reported, citing four informed sources, that the United Arab Emirates has agreed to release $10 billion in assets linked to the Islamic Republic, with more than $3 billion of that amount already paid out.
