Green Movement reports attack on Taliban recruitment center in Ghor

The movement has released a video claiming that this operation took place on the same day. In a statement issued by the Green Movement, it is stated that their forces, with a pre-planned scheme, were able to place explosives inside the Taliban army recruitment command in Firozkoh, after which the explosion occurred.


At least three local sources have also confirmed the occurrence of the explosion in Firozkoh and said that the sound of the blast was heard in parts of the city; however, details about the extent of the damage and potential casualties are not yet clear.


The Green Movement has stated that the exact casualty figures for the Taliban are not yet known; but it has emphasized that the attacks by this movement will continue until the "liberation of Afghanistan."


This is the second time that the Green Movement has independently, from its official address and separate from the Resistance Front, accepted responsibility for an attack against the Taliban. Previously, this movement had also claimed responsibility for an attack on Taliban urban patrol forces in Mazar-i-Sharif that took place on May 1.


Amrullah Saleh, after the fall of the Republic of Afghanistan government in 2021, went to Panjshir and joined the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan led by Ahmad Massoud.


Meanwhile, a Taliban official, in response to media inquiries, has denied the occurrence of this attack.

The Green Movement, led by Amrullah Saleh, has stated that its forces attacked a Taliban army recruitment center in the city of Firozkoh, the capital of Ghor Province, on Monday, May 17. According to this movement, individuals affiliated with the Green Brigade planted explosives inside the Taliban recruitment building and then detonated them.
