International media: Seven explosions hit Venezuelan capital Caracas

The Reuters news agency, in a report, has stated that simultaneously with the explosions, the sound of airplanes flying at low altitude was also heard in the city. According to reports, at least one column of smoke was also observed in the sky over Caracas.


Reports indicate that in the southern area of Caracas, near a large military base, power has been cut off.


Donald Trump, the President of the United States, had previously announced that he had authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations in Venezuela. Last week as well, in a radio interview, he vaguely referred to "the US attack on one of the major facilities in Venezuela."


Venezuelan officials have not yet commented on this matter, and no further information is available.

International media have reported that early on Saturday morning, seven powerful explosions occurred in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
