Shahbaz Sharif accuses Taliban of collaborating with India against Pakistan

Pakistan's Prime Minister stated on Wednesday, May 27, that Pakistan's transformation into a nuclear power has prevented enemies from crossing the country's "red lines." He emphasized that Pakistan's nuclear capability and armed forces play a fundamental role in maintaining security and deterrence against external threats.

Shehbaz Sharif, with an indirect reference to India, said that the Taliban administration has provided the ground for implementing the objectives of Pakistan's enemies. He claimed that after recent failures, India is now supporting proxy groups such as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch separatists. According to him, the military operation "Zarb-e-Haq" will continue to eliminate these threats.

In recent months, coinciding with an increase in border clashes between the Taliban and Pakistan, the country's army has launched the "Zarb-e-Haq" operation.

Pakistani officials claim that in this operation, more than 700 Taliban-affiliated fighters have been killed; however, the Afghan Taliban have rejected these figures. Despite these operations, reports indicate a renewed increase in insecurity and attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani army, in a joint statement, described the 1998 nuclear tests as the factor that created strategic balance in South Asia. In recent months, Islamabad has targeted several objectives inside Afghanistan with airstrikes and hopes that the Afghan Taliban will prevent the activities of Pakistani militants. Nevertheless, the Taliban have not accepted this request, and border tensions between the two sides continue; a situation that has also heightened concerns among some regional countries, particularly China.

Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, in a speech marking the anniversary of the country's nuclearization, accused the Taliban administration in Afghanistan of collaborating with India to destabilize Pakistan. He stated that Islamabad would continue its military operations against threats organized from Afghan soil.
