Escalating confrontation; CENTCOM announces targeting of dozens of positions in Iran

CENTCOM stated that these strikes were carried out with the aim of reducing Iran's ability to continue attacking international ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM's statement noted that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime route for global trade and that Iran does not control this waterway.

The command added that U.S. forces are on high alert to preserve the freedom of navigation for commercial vessels, despite what it called "Iran's threats, harassment, and reckless declarations."

Meanwhile, Valiollah Hayati, Khuzestan's deputy for security and law enforcement affairs, reported a U.S. attack on Mahshahr and stated that following the impact of a projectile on an agricultural water pumping station in the area, one person was killed and four others were injured.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that in its latest wave of attacks against Iran, it has struck dozens of targets across various locations in the country using precision-guided munitions.
