Unprecedented wealth; Elon Musk on the verge of becoming the world's first trillionaire

SpaceX has offered 555.6 million of its shares at a price of $135 per share. Based on this valuation, the company's total value reaches approximately $1.77 trillion. Musk, who previously topped the list of the world's richest people with assets nearing $696 billion, holds 42 percent of the company's shares.

Experts have estimated the value of Musk's stake in SpaceX at between $743 billion and $866.5 billion. If this value holds, his net worth will surpass the one-trillion-dollar mark, cementing his name as history's first trillionaire.

To grasp the magnitude of this figure, Oxfam has stated that if Musk spent a million dollars a day, it would take him about 2,740 years to exhaust one trillion dollars. His wealth is now estimated to be more than three times that of Larry Page, a Google co-founder and the world's second-richest person.

While comparing individuals' wealth across different historical periods is challenging, a number of economists believe Musk has surpassed major capitalists like John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie.

Guido Alfani, a professor of economic history at Italy's Bocconi University, says that if the measure is the number of people one person can employ with their wealth, Musk is likely the wealthiest individual in history.

With the start of SpaceX's stock trading on the Nasdaq exchange, Elon Musk is on the verge of setting a historic record. The company's entry into the capital market could make him the first person in the world with assets exceeding one trillion dollars—an event that has once again highlighted debates on economic inequality and wealth concentration.
