EU: Afghanistan should not be removed from the international community's priority

On Friday, 26th of Saratan, in a message posted on the social network X, he said that these cooperations will also encompass the next steps for advancing the "Doha process." El Anouni further emphasized that the European Union supports the subsequent stages of this process and that the international community must not forget Afghanistan.


Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, this week appointed Rabab Fatima, a senior Bangladeshi diplomat, as his new Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).


In this role, Rabab Fatima succeeds Rosa Otunbayeva, a Kyrgyzstani diplomat. Additionally, the United Nations Security Council extended the UNAMA mandate for another year in the month of Jowza of this year.

Anouar El Anouni, spokesperson for the European Union, welcomed the appointment of Rabab Fatima as the new Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Afghanistan, stating that the European Union will cooperate with her in Kabul as well as in international forums.
