UNAMA says at least 70 civilians killed in Taliban-Pakistan border clashes

UNAMA stated in its quarterly report, released on Sunday, 19 Dalu, that the peak of civilian casualties was recorded between October 10 and 17—a period when tensions and clashes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan borders had significantly intensified. According to the report, in just a few days, 47 civilians were killed and 456 others wounded.


The UN-affiliated body added that the majority of clashes occurred in the eastern and southern border regions of Afghanistan, where civilians suffered the greatest harm.


UNAMA also recalled that since 2011, it has regularly documented cases of civilian casualties resulting from border clashes in Afghanistan. According to the body, the number of civilian victims in the recent clashes between the Taliban and Pakistani forces is considerably higher than the average of previous years, indicating a troubling increase.

According to a recent report by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), border clashes between the Taliban and Pakistani forces in the final three months of 2025 claimed the lives of at least 70 civilians and wounded 477 others.
