Fayeq: Corruption and discrimination have increased under the Taliban regime

Mr. Faqeh, on (Sunday, 7 Jadi), referring to the collective resignation of Taliban Security Command employees in Nuristan province, said that the Taliban are engaged in systematically eliminating former military personnel, misusing government resources, and running the country through fear and intimidation.


He added that approximately 90 percent of Afghanistan's people are living below the poverty line and more than 23 million individuals require humanitarian assistance. Millions of people, especially youth, are unemployed and anxious about their future.


The head of Afghanistan's representation also emphasized the deprivation of women from their fundamental rights by the Taliban and stated: "No regime that is not founded on justice, the rule of law, and the will of the people will endure."


These remarks come as employees of the Taliban Security Command in Nuristan have collectively resigned due to corruption and ethnic discrimination; a development that has fueled concerns about the Taliban’s managerial and social conditions.

Nasr Ahmad Faqeh, head of the Permanent Representation of Afghanistan to the United Nations, announced that administrative corruption, discrimination, and ethnic prejudices are spreading within the Taliban regime.
