Sources: Taliban arrest local singer for mourning for Hasib Panjshiri

A few days ago, in a video expressing condolences, Syed Ghafar Agha said about the killing of Haseeb Panjshiri that if he did not "offer condolences for his martyrdom, he would suffer pangs of conscience for the rest of his life."

Local sources say that after the release of this video, Taliban intelligence forces detained him. These sources, who did not want their names revealed, cited his reaction to the killing of the National Resistance Front commander as the reason for his detention.

According to the sources, the Taliban also took his car with them when they detained Syed Ghafar Agha. No further details have been released so far about his place of detention or his fate.

After the Taliban returned to power in 2021, Syed Ghafar Agha left Afghanistan and lived in Iran for a while. He had returned to Afghanistan again in recent months.

Informed sources in Kabul say that Taliban intelligence has detained Syed Ghafar Agha, a local singer and rubab player, after the release of a video about the killing of Haseeb Panjshiri, commander of the National Resistance Front. According to the sources, he was arrested from his home in the 15th district of Kabul City on Tuesday, September 3.
