Sources: Clashes between Taliban and Azadi Front resume in Kamdish

These clashes had previously also begun in the early hours of Saturday in the same area. Since that time, both sides have claimed to have inflicted heavy casualties on the opposing forces during the battle; however, independent sources have not yet confirmed these claims.


Sources close to the Freedom Front on Tuesday sent videos from Nuristan, reporting the renewed clashes in Kamdesh. In these videos, the sound of sporadic gunfire can be heard, showing that fighting is taking place in the area.


The Taliban has not yet commented on the resumption of the battle in Kamdesh.



Informed sources say that the conflict between Taliban forces and the Freedom Front in Kamdesh district of Nuristan province has once again resumed in the early hours of Tuesday, the 7th of Miizan. According to these sources, this round of clashes began with an attack by the Taliban, and the fighting between the two sides is still ongoing.
