Taliban arrest two people in Herat on charges of shaving beards and using naktai

According to sources, these individuals were detained by Taliban forces on the morning of Tuesday, the second of Jadi. The main arrested individual is accused of compelling several hotel employees to wear dreshes, use neckties, and shave their beards.

Sources have added that the Taliban had also visited the hotel a day earlier and were searching for its manager. It is said that previously, the hotel officials had been warned that employees should not wear neckties or shave their beards.

After regaining control of Afghanistan, the Taliban, in addition to imposing extensive restrictions on women, have also established strict regulations on men's attire and appearance; regulations based on which shaving beards and using neckties are not permitted.

Meanwhile, international hotels typically operate according to specific global standards, and the type of attire and appearance of employees is considered part of the working principles of these establishments.

Local sources in Herat say that the Taliban have arrested the manager and one of the employees of an international hotel for what has been called "promoting neckties and shaving beards," and transferred them to an undisclosed location.
