Andishah: The political and social situation in Afghanistan has reached a dangerous stage

Nasir Ahmad Andishah, in his most recent statements, has emphasized that despite widespread pressures, this social stagnation will not be permanent.


According to him, Afghan citizens have been systematically sidelined from decision-making processes over the past three years and have lost the opportunity to participate in shaping their own political and social destiny. Andishah adds that national institutions and legal structures have either been dismantled or play no practical role in managing affairs.


This Afghan diplomat clarifies that the complete concentration of power in the hands of a narrow and unaccountable circle has caused millions of people—without public oversight and without a legal framework—to become subject to decisions made behind closed doors. The absence of a constitution, parliament, and local councils, in his view, has deepened this crisis even further.


Andishah warns that the continuation of such a situation not only weakens the bond between the government and the people but also puts Afghanistan's position in the global system at risk of collapse. Nevertheless, pointing to recent movements inside and outside the country, he says that society is gradually recovering its strength.


In the view of Afghanistan's Permanent Representative, the formation of small information exchange networks, coordinated civil efforts, independent cultural activities, the role of exiled media, and the solidarity of the younger generation are all signs of the enduring seed of civil resistance among the people.


In conclusion, he emphasizes that although Afghan citizens are living under the shadow of censorship, restrictions, and dispersion; their return to the arena of advocacy and defense of their fundamental rights can once again breathe the spirit of life back into the body of society.
