Tensions on the border; Pakistan claims to have targeted several Taliban posts on the border

A local Pakistani official has claimed that the Taliban forces, following these attacks, have abandoned their positions and retreated.

The Deputy Commissioner of South Waziristan wrote on Sunday, October 1, in a message on the social network X that the Taliban forces had opened fire on Pakistani border outposts in the Angor Adda area without any apparent reason.

According to this Pakistani official, the country's security forces, in response to the shootings, have targeted several Taliban border outposts, mortar positions, and defensive facilities of this group.

He also claimed that in the aftermath of the Pakistani forces' attacks, Taliban individuals were forced to abandon their outposts and retreat from these positions. The Taliban has not yet reacted to these claims by the Pakistani official.

This incident occurs a few days after an armed clash between Taliban forces and Pakistan in the Angor Adda area. Pakistan had previously claimed that Taliban forces shelled civilian homes and the market in this area on the night of September 26; a claim that the Taliban Ministry of Defense had denied.

Pakistani officials have announced that in response to the Taliban forces' shooting in the Angor Adda border area, they have targeted several outposts and military positions of this group.
