Afghanistan eliminated from Under-19 World Cup after losing to India

The Afghanistan Cricket Board, in response to this loss, has stated that the result does not align with existing expectations. Afghanistan had previously secured their place in the semi-finals with victories over Ireland and New Zealand.


India was originally scheduled to face Pakistan on Sunday for the final semi-final spot; however, due to Pakistan's withdrawal for political reasons, the India-Afghanistan semi-final match was held instead.

Afghanistan's Under-19 national cricket team was eliminated from the Cricket World Cup after a 7-wicket defeat to India in the semi-final stage, with India advancing to the final match.
