Pakistan forcibly deports more than 6,000 refugees to Afghanistan

In recent months, thousands of Afghan citizens have been detained in Iran and Pakistan and forcibly returned to Afghanistan. This escalation has coincided with the deteriorating relations between the Taliban and the Pakistani government.


International organizations have warned against the mass return of Afghan migrants, deeming it contrary to international laws. These entities have emphasized that security conditions in Afghanistan are not conducive to the safe return of migrants.

The Taliban's Supreme Commission for Refugees Affairs announced in a report that on Monday, 30 Hamal, more than six thousand Afghan migrants were returned to the country from Pakistan. According to this report, six thousand and 148 individuals entered Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings. Additionally, 471 other migrants entered the country from Iran on the same day.
