The Associated Press, referencing Hengaw's track record in publishing documented statistics on protest events from previous years, reported that according to this organization's data, more than 10,600 people have been arrested over the two weeks of recent protests.


Officials of the Islamic Republic have not yet released any official and comprehensive statistics on the number of those killed. The Associated Press has also emphasized that due to severe internet restrictions and the severance of international communications in Iran, the possibility of fully independently verifying these statistics does not exist.


Despite the security atmosphere, gatherings were once again held in Tehran and the country's second most populous city on Sunday morning. At the same time, Iranians abroad have expressed concern that the blocking of the free flow of information could pave the way for the escalation of violent confrontations by security forces.


In response to the developments in Iran, Donald Trump, President of the United States, issued a message on social media supporting the protesters, stating that Iran is closer to freedom than ever before and that the United States is prepared to provide assistance.


It is said that in internal White House discussions, Trump and his national security advisors are examining various options against Iran; options that range from cyber operations to potential direct attacks by the United States or Israel.


In response, officials of the Islamic Republic have warned that if the United States uses military force under the pretext of supporting the protesters, U.S. and Israeli forces will be considered legitimate targets.

The Human Rights Organization Hengaw, based in the United States, announced on Sunday that the death toll from Iran's nationwide protests has reached at least 538, and this figure is likely to rise. According to this organization's report, thousands of others have also been arrested during these unrests.
