Salang Highway Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the ministry, stated in a press release that the Salang Highway has been blocked to all types of traffic since early Tuesday.


He also urged the country's citizens to refrain from traveling on the Salang route until further notice.


The Salang Highway is one of the country's most important highways, connecting Kabul, including nine northern and northeastern provinces, to other provinces.


This pass, which links Kabul to the northern provinces, creates problems for citizens' travel every year with the arrival of the winter season and snowfall and rain.

The Taliban's Ministry of Public Works announced that the Salang Highway has been closed to all vehicles due to heavy snowfall and storms.
