Sources: Taliban shoot dead oil and gas businessman in Kabul

Based on information, this event took place around 10 p.m. on the third of Virgon (September 24) and near Marshal Fahim Defense University. Sources say that one of the Taliban members stationed at a checkpoint near the scene of the incident asked Alikhel to get out of his vehicle after the altercation.


Relatives of this trader have said that Alikhel got out of his vehicle; however, the Taliban member shot him in the head from a distance of about four meters without any prior warning.


The Taliban have not yet reacted to the killing of Naqibullah Alikhel by their forces in this incident.


The killing of this trader is reported at a time when, following the Taliban's return to power, numerous cases of violent confrontations by the group's forces with civilians in Afghanistan have been reported.



Local sources in Kabul say that Naqibullah Alikhel, one of the oil and gas traders, was killed by gunfire after an altercation with one of the Taliban members near the Qambar intersection. According to sources, this incident occurred after his tanker collided with another gas tanker.
