Deadly shooting; Taliban fighters gun down two young men in Badghis

According to sources, these two individuals were shot while riding a motorcycle in an area called Khalifa Bahram in the Qads port of Qal'eh-ye Now city. One of the sources said that Taliban Amniyat Command and Intelligence forces had jointly established a checkpoint at this location, and the two were fired upon from behind.


Based on information from sources, after the shooting, the bodies of these two individuals were transferred to a hospital. A local source also said that the killed individuals were local youths; however, their identity and affiliation with a specific group have not been confirmed by independent sources.


Taliban police in Badghis told media outlets that these two individuals intended to throw a hand grenade toward the Taliban checkpoint. Nevertheless, the Taliban have not specified which opposition group the killed individuals belonged to.

Local sources in Badghis say that two young men were killed on Wednesday in Qal'eh-ye Now, the capital of this province, following gunfire by Taliban forces. Taliban police in Badghis have also confirmed the incident and claimed that the killed individuals were members of Taliban opposition groups.
