Aryan Yun: The international community must recognize the Taliban

According to him, the Taliban, compared to many countries in the region and even the world, possess a "cohesive, strong, and committed" governmental structure, and for this reason, the international community must approach this matter realistically and recognize them.


This former parliamentarian also considers the continuation of international sanctions unjust and has stated that these restrictions impose a heavy burden on the lives of ordinary people more than anything else. In his view, the sanctions have not only deepened the economic and livelihood crisis for citizens but have also created a serious obstacle to improving the country's humanitarian situation.


Arin Yun further welcomes the recent action by the United Nations and describes it as a "positive step" toward engagement; an action that, according to him, can pave the way for broader communication and cooperation between the international community and the Taliban.


These remarks come at a time when the issue of recognizing the Taliban and lifting sanctions remains one of the most challenging topics at both national and international levels, with differing and sometimes contradictory views existing among Afghan politicians, civil society activists, and citizens on this matter.
