Coinciding with the Taliban delegation's visit; Amir Khan Mottaqi met with Abbas Araqchi

This meeting took place while Muttaqi, accompanied by the Taliban’s deputy economic administrator, had traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral procession of Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.


Tasnim News Agency, a media outlet close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported on Thursday, 11th of Cancer [June 1], that the foreign ministers of Iran and the Taliban had held consultations in Tehran. However, to date, none of the official officials from Iran or the Taliban have released details on the topics of these discussions.


According to reports, Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, passed away on the ninth of Hoot [February 28] and on the first day of the joint U.S.-Israeli attack. His funeral procession is scheduled to be held in Tehran over the coming days.


Meanwhile, Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has announced that on Friday, a large number of foreign political officials and figures will arrive in Tehran to participate in this ceremony. According to him, guests from approximately 100 countries around the world will attend the funeral procession.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s foreign minister, met and held talks with Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, during his trip to Tehran.
