UNAMA: At least 14 soldiers killed in Afghanistan in past three months

UNAMA stated in its quarterly report on the human rights situation in Afghanistan on (Monday, 19 Dalwa) that in the last three months of the previous calendar year, at least 28 cases of arbitrary and unlawful detention of former military personnel by the Taliban were documented.


The Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission says that the detained and killed individuals were military personnel who had recently returned from Iran and Pakistan. Additionally, seven former military personnel were tortured and mistreated.


The report states: "In Parwan Province, Jabal-us-Saraj District, in the Dubandi and Sang-e Khil areas, two individuals associated with the former government were shot and killed in separate incidents by unidentified perpetrators."


UNAMA added in this report that one of these individuals was a former official of the Ministry of Interior, and the other was the cousin of a deputy police chief. According to UNAMA, both of these men had recently returned from Iran.

The Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has announced that at least 14 former military personnel were killed between October 1 and December 2025 AD.
