Darya on the Amsterdam concert: The Taliban are thirsty for the blood of musicians

Darya explained that preventing a political speech by one of the concert participants was in no way meant to signify his support for the Taliban. According to him, a concert is a place for music, not political statements, and people come to the stage to hear music, not political messages. He emphasized that there are separate platforms for political issues.


During Farhad Darya's concert two days ago in Amsterdam, one of the participants took the microphone and expressed hope that one day such programs would be held in Kabul and even in the Taliban's Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. These remarks were met with an immediate reaction from the security team, and concert officials took the microphone away from him to prevent the speech from continuing.


This event received widespread coverage on social media and elicited varied reactions among Afghan users. Some users supported Darya's action, while others criticized it.


In response to his critics, Darya said that his statements had been portrayed in such a way that it seemed as though he supported the Taliban, whereas this claim is incorrect and illogical. He stressed that he has always and unyieldingly stood against terror, violence, and horror, and has protested them.


This prominent singer concluded by adding that he had learned a great lesson from this incident and, from now on, in his concerts and music programs, he would maintain complete control over the microphone and platform to prevent any misunderstandings.

Farhad Darya, the renowned Afghan singer, in response to the controversies surrounding his recent concert in Amsterdam, said that the Taliban "thirst for our blood, thirst for the blood of music lovers" and, by burning instruments, whipping and imprisoning them, have displaced the people of music. He added that these actions are part of the Taliban's efforts to suppress music and culture in Afghanistan.
