Shah Mahmood Miakhel: The fate of the Taliban will be similar to that of the Islamic Republic

In a message on X, he emphasized that dictatorial regimes without popular support will sooner or later face crisis.


Miakhil, referring to the widespread protests in Iran and the killing of thousands, said that the Islamic Republic government, instead of responding to the people, has spent vast resources on proxy wars in the region, and this very neglect has placed the country in its current crisis.


The former Afghan Defense Minister added that the Taliban has also ignored the people and provided insufficient services, and if the situation does not change, the people of Afghanistan will also stand against the government.


He suggested that the Taliban, before the situation reaches an irreversible point, hold a Loya Jirga so that representatives of all segments of society can be present and an inclusive system can be formed.


Miakhil added that "if the people do not see themselves in the ruling system, the fate will be the same as what we are now observing in Iran."

Shah Mahmood Miakhil, former Afghan Defense Minister, warned that the Taliban might experience a fate similar to that of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
