US Senator: Ensuring Taxpayer Dollars Are Not Transferred to Taliban Is Essential

Mr. Risch wrote in a note on the social network X on Sunday (January 17) that the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee will consider this matter at its first working session of 2026, on January 29.


He emphasized: "We must do everything possible to ensure that no money from the United States reaches the Taliban."


Jim Risch is one of the conservative figures in the U.S. Senate and plays an active role in the Foreign Affairs Committee.


Previously, Tim Burchett, a member of the House of Representatives, had emphasized in an official note in 2024 that even one cent of American taxpayers' money reaching the Taliban or other terrorist groups would be considered a scandal.

Jim Risch, the Republican U.S. Senator, announced that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee of this country will review a bill this month that prevents the payment of American taxpayers' dollars to terrorist groups, including the Taliban.
