After months of uncertainty; 47 Afghan citizens transferred to Germany

The German Ministry of the Interior announced that this transfer took place within the framework of the “Federal Admission Programme” and that the individuals in question were granted permission to enter German territory after undergoing legal checks and receiving visas.


In recent months, a number of eligible applicants have also been transferred to Germany, either through special flights or regular commercial flights. Some of these transfers were carried out following court rulings issued by German courts.


Nevertheless, a large number of Afghan families in Islamabad who have received promises of admission continue to remain in an uncertain situation, waiting for months or even years for a final decision on their cases.


The German government had previously pledged to complete the transfer process for all eligible individuals in the shortest possible time; however, this process is still proceeding slowly and with delays. This comes at a time when the Pakistani government has also deported a number of these Afghan asylum seekers.

Germany on Wednesday transferred 47 Afghan citizens from Islamabad to Berlin. These individuals, who had been waiting for months in Pakistan for the transfer process to be carried out, finally entered Germany after completing the administrative procedures.
