Ceasefire violations continue; At least 32 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks

The Palestinian Civil Defense announced that women and children were among the dead. The organization added that in one of the attacks, military helicopters targeted a tent in a displacement shelter site in the southern city of Khan Younis.


Palestinians have described these attacks as the most intense since the start of the second phase of the ceasefire—a truce brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump that took effect on October 10, 2025, and entered a new phase earlier this month.


Nevertheless, since the ceasefire agreement was implemented last year, both Israel and Hamas have repeatedly accused each other of violating it.


The Israeli army, confirming the strikes, stated that it had carried out several attacks in response to Hamas’s violation of the ceasefire agreement on Friday.


In a statement, the army said that “eight terrorists were identified exiting underground terrorist infrastructure in eastern Rafah”—an area where Israeli forces remain deployed under the terms of the October agreement.


In response, Hamas condemned the attacks and called on the United States to act immediately. The group stated that these “ongoing violations” demonstrate that the Israeli government “continues its war against the Gaza Strip.”


Hamas also announced that seven of the victims belonged to a single displaced family in Khan Younis. A Civil Defense spokesperson said the strikes targeted residential apartments, tents, shelters, and a police station.

Gaza authorities reported that at least 32 people were killed across the Gaza Strip in a wave of Israeli airstrikes on Saturday, January 31.
